How to install unpacked Chrome extensions

Step-by-step instructions for manually installing internally distributed extensions, without going through the Chrome Web Store.

Installation steps

1. Download the extension package
   Find the available files in the section below. Download the compressed folder and extract it to a stable location on your computer (e.g. Documents/Extensions). Do not move or delete the folder after installation.
2. Open the Chrome extensions page
   Type chrome://extensions in the address bar and press Enter. Alternatively, click the menu (⋮) → More tools → Extensions.
3. Enable Developer mode
   Toggle on Developer mode in the top-right corner of the page. Three new buttons will appear at the top.
4. Load the unpacked extension
   Click Load unpacked and select the folder (not the .zip file) you extracted in step 1. The extension will appear in the list immediately.
5. Verify it’s working
   The extension icon should appear in Chrome’s toolbar. If it’s not visible, click the puzzle icon (🧩) and pin it from the list.
